Thailand institute of occupational safety and health (public organization) or T-OSH organized the 2022st OSH Avenue International Conference 2022 (OAIC 10) on 12 - 2565  June XNUMX in Bangkok, Thailand with hybrid conference

The OAIC is recognized as the digital seminar for knowledge sharing across multiple disciplines for better safe working. With the theme “Foresight for Safe; Toward a safer and more prosperous future", OAIC will be new digital experiences in terms of specific content and interaction with networking and engagement opportunities. The conference will be run on hybrid events which based on digital platform. Participants will have on-demand access to all sessions and contents as oral presentation, digital poster presentation, video presentation and article that published on this platform with no boundaries of formats. In addition, live streaming of special keynote speakers who sharing their extensive knowledges and experiences through the social determinants of occupational safety health and working environments.

Themes and Topics for the conference

1. Management of Change for Safety

     Management of Change for Safety is a systematic approach to addressing organizational change, which typically affects facilities, procedures, and workers. Management's role is to protect workers from potential harm during this critical transition period. The topics could include, but is not limited to, the following. 

- Instrument equipped with safety guard; 

- Management in reskilling and upskilling for workers to be in line with new management protocols; 

- Management of safety policy/ standard; 

- Economic scale: Capitals and Economic value-added, etc. 

2. Automation and digital technology for a safer workplace

    Automation and digital technology are the combinations of sensors, controls, and actuators that enable a task to be performed with little or no human intervention. It entails utilizing a variety of equipment and control systems to address workplace safety and health issues to create a safer working atmosphere, by reducing the risk of accident, knowledge promotes safe work. The topics could include, but is not limited to, the following.  

- Automation robotic handed for high-risk works; 

- Digital Technology for workers in high-risk work; 

- Online working during a pandemic crisis, work from home; 

- Innovation for occupational and safety management. 

3. Occupational safety and health challenges of workers in a digitalized and aged society

     Changes in technology, globalization, and the shift to a digital platform are all contributing to the formation of new work patterns. Workers who are shifting to more digitalized platforms, whether they are younger or older, have limited access to social welfare benefits while also being exposed to increasing levels of job-related risk. The topics could include, but is not limited to, the following. 

- A digital platform for informal workers and social protections; for example, a cleaning platform, an elderly health care platform, a rider platform, a taxi driver platform, and a platform for home-based workers. 

- Aging society: chronic conditions for elderly workers, elderly worker safety and ergonomic workstations, investment in training and skill development 

4. Lifestyle for Safer and Healthier Life

     Megatrends and well-being were among the issues that were identified as being on the rise. Well-being is a multidimensional concept that encompasses physical, emotional or psychological, social, spiritual, intellectual, economic, and job security. The topics could include, but is not limited to, the following. 

  • Promote health and promote healthy lifestyles 
  • Provide and design work environments that are ergonomically sound. 
  • Scheduling time for relaxing physical activity throughout the workday. 
  • Maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life 

5. From Resilience to Sustainability: Safety from academic to workplace

     The resilience of organizations was analyzed in order to determine their ability to adapt to changes in their business environment. The term “resilience” refers to a property's ability to change in response to environmental changes, such as flexibility, adaptability, or agility. A business's ability to survive or die depends on effective crisis management. It is necessary to have an effective crisis management plan in place. Organizational resilience aims to integrate these tasks and activities into a centralized process that is integral to an organization's management ethos and way of working. While many organizations have risk management plans and strategies in place, they are frequently managed in isolation, resulting in gaps or resource waste due to overlap. The topics could include, but is not limited to, the following. 

  • The application of safety standards to teaching, research, and all aspects of graduate labor market preparation. with awareness, capable of safely completing tasks, and reducing workplace accidents and diseases; 
  • Promoting and assisting educational institutions in developing a safety culture; 
  • Using risk assessment principles to improve safety development in laboratories, classrooms, offices, and buildings; 
  • Managing security through policies, budgets, and security assignments; 
  • Developing safety strategies/tools such as training and a system for reporting safety incidents, hazardous chemical waste management, and so on. 

6. Dissemination of OSH knowledges and promotion of policy linkages

     It is critical to contribute to workplace safety and health improvement efforts through all available means, as well as to the prevention of work-related accidents and illnesses. The purpose of promoting policy connections is to foster a health and safety culture, conduct research, and assist the public and private sectors, as well as academia, in collaborating internationally to improve occupational safety and health. The topics could include, but is not limited to, the following.
